honors those who honor Him
"If anyone serves me let him follow Me and where I am there My servant will be also. If anyone serves Me, him My Father will honor."John 12:26
Honor and majesty belongs to the Lord. The Lord says to us, "I will honor those who honor me".
There are several examples in the Bible in which the Lord has proved his word. In I Kings 17:1 we read about Elijah who was honored by God.
King Ahab listening to the words of his wife Jezebel ruled Israel tyrannically. In order to teach King Ahab the power of God, Elijah, the Prophet of God, said to him that there shall not be dew nor rain for three years except at his word. The Lord honored the word of Elijah and there was not rain for three years. There was great famine over Israel but the Lord miraculously provided for Elijah. He stayed near the Brook Cherith. The Lord fed him through ravens. They brought him meat and bread every day (I Kings 17:5,6).
This is how the Lord honors his servant. If you stand up for him and serve him then the Lord shall also stand up for you. Even in adverse times the Lord is able to feed you. The inflation rate may be high the salary you get may be very less still you will nether go hungry nor unclothed. The Lord is sufficient to provide your needs.
Yet another time we see that when Elijah was afraid of Jezebel, King Ahabs wife, the Lord ordered an angel to provide him food (I Kings 19:6). Our God is loving God, he cannot see his children go hungry or diseased. Your problems though may look like a mountain for you. But the same Lord who fed Elijah through ravens and angel can open up miraculous ways to meet your demands. He loves you too. He expects you to serve him by ministering to others. Do you wonder how can I minister others? Tell about the Lord and his salvation to others. We see unrighteous people around us without being aware of their sins. There are people who have not experienced love. Tell them that Jesus loves them. To people without hope explain to them about the hope in Christ. In Christ, there is no condition which is hopeless.
There are also other examples in Bible in which the Lord performs extraordinary things for the sake of his servant. During a battle, Joshua, the leader of Israel, was fighting against several nations. He ordered the sun and moon to stand still so that he could finish the battle (Joshua 10:10). The Lord honored his word and made the sun and moon to stand still. Similarly, God will do extraordinary things in your life too if you honor him. If you deny him he will also deny you.
The ball is in your court. You can choose either blessing or curse, honoring him or dishonoring him. The Lord wants you to choose to honor him so that he can bless you abundantly and honor you among your friends, neighbors, colleagues an so on.
Many of us ask why does God not answer my prayers. Here is your answer. When you honor God and serve him he will honor you by answering to your prayers. We forget and keep thinking only of our problems, we forget to think that there are several others who have greater problems than us. It is our duty to minister unto them by praying, or by physically means or financially that is whichever is possible by us. Make a decision to serve God today and see the miracles happen in your life.
